Dr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar (b. 1952, Nagathihalli) is a versatile filmmaker and author who has profoundly shaped Kannada culture. He transitioned from literature to cinema with the National Award-winning screenplay for KADINA BENKI (1988), later directing beloved classics like UNDU HODA KONDU HODA (1992), KOTRESHI KANASU (1994). His filmography includes HOOMALE (1998), AMRITHADHARE (2005), and MATHAD MATHADU MALLIGE (2007). With three National Awards, thirteen State Awards, and the Rajyotsava Award, he skillfully blends social commentary with storytelling. An avid traveler and prolific writer, his notable books include Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake and Dakshina Druvadim. He also mentors future filmmakers through his school, Tent Cinema.
