Ernesto Martínez Bucio (b.1983, Uruapan, Mexico) is a film director, screenwriter & editor. He holds a BA in Communication Sciences from ITESO in western Mexico & an MA in Filmmaking from EQZE/UPV in Spain. His short films include CENIZAS (2011), LA MADRE (2012), LAS RAZONES DEL MUNDO (2015) & EL FUTURO (2018). His short films have premiered at prestigious FFs, including Cannes’ Cinéfondation, Cairo, San Sebastián, and Rotterdam IFFs. He has received two grants from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts and is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents. THE DEVIL SMOKES is his first feature film.
