Mayra Hermosillo (b.1987) is a Mexican writer, director, and actress from Torreón who studied acting in Mexico City. Her work focuses on intimacy, identity, and female experience with emotional sensitivity and realism. Her filmography includes the short films EN LA PIEL DE LUCÍA (2018) and ME QUEDO AQUÍ (2022). Her awards and recognitions include official selections at the Guadalajara IFF, multiple international short film awards, development and production support from FOCINE, and work-in-progress awards at Morelia, GLAFF, and Ventana Sur. VANILLA is her directional debut feature.
