The current Lithuania's Vilnius. Perfectionist 29-year-old Ilona feels pressure to be successful and settled by the time she is 30. She starts to wonder how she really wants to live at this pivotal moment in her life. She and her lover Matas move into what looks to be the ideal apartment, and things are starting to become serious. However, when the building's renovations get underway, Ilona's inner doubts gradually come to light. She unexpectedly becomes acquainted with Oleg, a construction worker from Ukraine. Her doubts about whether she truly wants to settle down and establish a family are heightened by their relationship.

Gabrielė Urbonaitė (b. 1993) Lithuanian writer-director and Columbia University MFA graduate, is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents. Her directorial credits include the short film THE SWIMMER (2013), which won the "Silver Crane" National Lithuanian Film Award. Recognized as the 2020 Mountainfilm Emerging Filmmaker, she also edited the award-winning feature REMEMBER TO BLINK (2022). RENOVATION is her debut film.
