Zamo Mkhwanazi is a South African filmmaker born in Durban who studied at the University of Cape Town before beginning her career as a television writer on the drama series Isidingo. Her background bridges television and independent cinema. Her filmography includes the short films THE CALL (2014), SADLA (2019) and GALLO ROJO (2016). Her work often explores family, memory and social history with emotional sensitivity and narrative clarity. Her awards and recognitions include major festival selections at Cannes, Sundance and Toronto. LAUNDRY is her debut feature film.
